- If so, then you should consider use of marquee subframe. Please ask our team on capabilities of our structures to cope with uneven terrains
- Is there direct vehicle access for lorries?
- It is possible to install marquees at sites without easy vehicle access, but this would incur additional costs.

Date - The importance of early planning
Marquees are in high demand during peak seasons—especially fro late spring to early autumn, and around holidays like Christmas and New Year. Securing your preferred date early ensures you get:
✅ Availability of your ideal marquee type and size
✅ Better planning time for layout, décor, and logistics
✅ Access to popular extras like furniture, lighting, and dance floors
✅ Smooth coordination with other suppliers (caterers, florists, entertainment, etc.)
Weddings and large events are often booked 6–12 months in advance, while smaller parties might only need a few weeks—but the earlier, the better.
Top Tip: Once you’ve chosen your event date and location, reach out as soon as possible. Contact our team can lock in your spot and get the ball rolling.
Number of guests
- Consider the number of guests using the marquee and does it differ throughout the event e.g. additional wedding evening guests.
- Is the layout to be Concert/Theatre style?
- Is the layout to be dining style with guests seated at tables?
- Are all guests to be fully seated at the same time?
Type of event
When planning your event, you need to give consideration as to how the marquee is going to be used.
- Is an area for dancing required?
- If you are hosting a wedding – will the ceremony also take place within the marquee?
- Will space be required for a bar? Is a mingling area or drinks reception ?
- Will there be any element of buffet service and thus space for buffet tables within the function area is required?
- Do your caterers require a service area attached to the marquee?
- Do you require any walkways or links to buildings incorporated? Often these have to be subject to a site visit.
Internal Finishes
Flooring
In most cases a wooden floor will be required but dependent on the type of event you may wish to consider including a carpet. A large range of colours are available in event carpet, which is used once and then disposed of. Find out more about our Marquee Flooring.
Internal Lining
Dependent on the type of event you are organising you may wish to include internal lining. For wedding marquees and other high profile events we include a pleated ivory lining as part of the standard package. Find out more about Internal Linings for Marquees.
Heating
Heating is included in the majority of marquee installations and will be provided as part of quotations and proposals as standard – and there will be no additional charges for heating fuel unless it is used.
The size of heater will depend on the size of the marquee and time of year. However, our heaters come with bundled fuel tanks and thermostat to regulate the temperature and reduce the need to heat the marquee in summer months if the temperature is warm.
Lighting
Types of lighting are dependent on the type of function you are organising. Our standard lighting is a modern white globe chandelier but there are a wide range of options available. See our Marquee Interiors page for a full breakdown.
Water and Electricity (Utilities)
- Is there a nearby power source that can be utilised? If not then we can arrange generators and the necessary power distribution.
- Is water available for use by caterers?
Toilets
Do you need additional toilets and if so would you prefer luxury self-contained trailer units or individual chemical toilets? Find out more about Marquee Toilets for Hire.
Catering Facilities
Catering facilities are often required and should be situated within reasonable distance from the main marquee structure for food service. Typically, we provide and additional bay for catering facilities and partition with internal doors to allow for food service under cover.
