A marquee allows you to host your wedding at your perfect location and gives you complete control. Now that wedding ceremonies can take place almost anywhere it is becoming more popular to include the ceremony within the reception marquee.

Each marquee wedding installation is different and is individually tailored to you. Be it guest numbers, internal layout, lighting or other personal preferences. Typically, we start with some recommended marquee sizes and flooring options. Layouts and positioning of window walls, interiors, doors, lighting, heating and other aspects is up to you.

Sizing your Marquee

During discussions we will chat through your wedding day plans so that we can understand what you would like to use the marquee for and what kind of ambience you are trying to create. For example, do you need space for a ceremony area (the dance area can be kept clear for that purpose earlier in the day), are you having a buffet or a served meal (we then know to leave space to lay out the buffet), are you having a straight top table or are you thinking of round tables (a straight top table can take up more space), what space does your caterer need, etc.

Site Factors

Once we start to envisage your ideas we can then offer practical advice on what space you might need and check that your site is large enough. We can then look at the site in more detail, for example, is it flat, level grass with good access for vehicles? If not, then we can look at the challenges and allow for the necessary equipment, manpower or additional time required. A site visit can verify that the site is suitable.

Upgrades

Our standard packages will give a nicely finished marquee that will give you the bespoke venue that you desire. However, there are several upgrades available such as suspended floor, solid glass, feature bars, specialist dance floors and a range of lighting packages. Marquee weddings can be enhanced by incorporating additional space such as a chill-out area with soft furnishings, additional bar space and by housing toilet facilities within the structure which avoids guests going outside to access the facilities.

Ceremony Areas

Whilst the most cost effective way to host your ceremony is to use the dance area within your reception marquee, another alternative is to have a bespoke ceremony marquee which can also be used for the drinks reception if desired.

Interior Decor

The benefit of a marquee wedding is that you have the opportunity to decide on decor. We provide a softly pleated ivory interior on the ceiling and the walls and there is a wide range of carpet colours available although for weddings ivory tends to be the most popular. It is laid with a film coating to give protection during the set up and then the film is removed just before your event begins. Additional decor can be provided by specialist theming companies, florists, etc to give the final transformation to the space.

Furniture Options

The internal layout of the marquee is your choice, in conjunction with your caterer or wedding planner. They will help you decide on whether to opt for banquet style with trestle tables or round tables and you can choose what style of top table you would like. There is a range of chairs available in the hire market with a choice of seat pad colours or full linen chair cover packages.

We can provide computerised drawings to show you how your choice of layout will work in the space available, highlighting, doors, windows, catering areas, etc. Thus you can be sure that on the day your plan will work.
