We may have been a little bit quiet on the blog over the last few months but it certainly hasn’t been quiet at Tents and Events HQ!
We worked consistently over our busiest winter ever and throughout the howling storms of January and February. There was a lot of moving around for the team ensuring that all our structures were protected against the elements, adding in extra ballast where necessary and removing structures or the covers over structures that were at any potential risk. The ballast we use to secure our structures are 500 kg concrete blocks and 200 litre water ballast barrels. Safety is paramount and it’s essential that we protect our clients, the public, our staff and of course our equipment.

Marquee Maintenance
March brought on a flurry of yard based activity with an incredible amount of winter maintenance carried out by the team. There were days and days of washing our PVC, the big pieces being cleaned through our Havencrown machine and the rest with brushes, towels and a fair amount of elbow grease! We replaced a lot of our flooring over the winter too – cutting and sanding in a temporary workstation in the yard (in a marquee of course – what else could it be!) and then getting it all varnished. It’s a massive amount of work and they look great. Along with painting and freshening up equipment and servicing our electrical equipment, we are all set for 2022!

Marquees for film shoots and other Scottish events
By the end of March we were back out on the road and out setting up filming marquees at various locations across the country. The company that we are currently working with are filming through until Spring 2023 and we are absolutely delighted to be back working with them again. When you add in our usual events such as the Fort William Mountain Bike World Cup, The Royal Highland Show, The Scottish Game Fair, Cowal Highland Gathering and then add in our wonderful weddings and private occasions, our hardworking team will hardly stop to draw breath this season!

Oh and did we mention… we’re having a bit of a baby boom too!💕
