Well there was no let up in the September schedule this year and we are not complaining one single bit! It was such a varied month with tents for all sorts!
Our clients Bowls Scotland hired a structure for a competition they were hosting at the National Bowling Centre at Nothfield in Ayr at the beginning of the month. Marquees are the perfect Covid solutions when you just need that additional temporary space to allow events to go ahead safely.
Wedding marquee at Ardkinglas Estate, Cairndow, Argyll
Beautiful Ardkinglas Estate at Cairndow, Argyll was the venue for a wedding photo shoot. We have worked at plenty weddings there so it was great to be involved at a different angle to the wedding industry – we’re very much looking forward to seeing the ‘finished article’.
Marquee Hire in Lochgilphead
We were on hand to supply marquee facilities to Renewable Parts Ltd at their base in Lochgilphead, Argyll for an event they were hosting. Renewable Parts have been in business for 10 years and have recently expanded their base by opening facilities in Renfrew too. This 10 year milestone for Renewable Parts comes as the UK gets set to host the United Nations COP26 conference in Glasgow, an event which will highlight the key initiatives Scotland can offer in its pursuit of becoming a net-zero society by 2045. It’s great to work with innovative suppliers who are striving to make our planet a better, greener place.
Hospitality Marquee for the Camanachd Cup in Oban
The Camanachd Association Challenge Cup, known to you and I simply as the Camanachd Cup, was held at Mossfield Park, Oban on Saturday 18th September 2021. This is shinty’s premier cup competition so we were of course delighted when we were approached by our friends at The Camamnachd Association to provide marquee hospitality facilities for them again this year. The competition was between twice winners Lovat and Kinlochshiel, who had made it through to their first Camanachd final. Wouldn’t you know… Kinlochshiel stole the show and won 3-1!
Catering Marquee Hire in Cambridge
Last year the team travelled to Cambridge to work with a previous customer, Temporary Kitchens. We had worked with them in Edinburgh in 2018 to install a semi-permanent structure whilst new kitchen and dining facilities were undertaken in a private school. They were using the same high specification German marquees that we use and of course the supplier recommended Graeme and the team to install the structure as we know them inside out! Fast forward 2 years to 2020 and when Temporary Kitchens were asked to install facilities at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, of course they came straight back to us and the job was completed! Last month, on a day visit to Cambridge whilst on holiday, we walked passed the college and just had to take a snap of how the structures looking now! It looks great, with decking and gorgeous greenery all making the marquee even more of a perfect solution for the college!
Scottish Game Fair Marquee
This year’s Scottish Game Fair went ahead in September after being postponed from their usual weekend at the beginning of July. The date may have moved but the event was still held in the beautiful grounds of Scone Palace, Perth. All the usual activities were there – fishing, the gun dog scurry, outdoor pursuit demonstrations, the 3D2D craft tent and lots and lots of local produce to purchase! It’s great to be back working at large events like this – we have really missed them!
On top of all of this we have had some beautiful weddings too! We don’t always have images of our weddings to post because we like to leave our clients to have their privacy. We hosted three weddings at High Wards, Gartocharn in total – not a bad way to end the Summer season with!
So it’s onwards into October with more vaccination areas planned and COP26 on the horizon…
