It’s been a busy start to the year for the team this year. Normally the winter months are typically a quieter spell for marquee companies – time to catch up on a lot of maintenance before the season kicks off again.
Scottish Schools Education Research Centre Annual Conference
In January we installed a marquee at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel in Clydebank. They were hosting the annual conference for the Scottish Schools Education Research Centre (SSERC) and we were delighted to install marquees for them. The main marquee was a fully lined 15m x 30m marquee with a 6m x 9m kitchen and a 3m x 21m link to the main hotel building. The marquees were all on our suspended flooring which gives a flat and level surface over rough and uneven ground. Appropriate lighting was placed throughout the marquee: chandeliers and up lighters in the main marquee and floodlighting and emergency lighting in the kitchen.
Scottish Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Show
The Scottish Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Show at the SEC, Glasgow had a 15m x 63m marquee with a 3m link to the main building. This was our second year at the event and this year we had a holiday home installed within the marquee which was a first for us.
Salmon fishing season opening at River Teith
We had a trip to Callander to work for Stirling Council for the opening of the River Teith fishing season. Our marquee was situated in the Meadows Car Park close to the river and provided shelter and hospitality for the guests. From the videos and photographs on social media, it looked like a fabulous day and a great community event.
We have been busy with two of our clients laundering the linings of their marquees. This involves a trip to take down the linings, several days of washing and drying and then a return trip to rehang them all! It’s the perfect time for this maintenance before their season kicks off in April too!
