Olympic Games 2012

We all enjoyed the 2012 Olympics and thought it would be fun to put together our “Top Ten Tenuous” Links with the Olympics and in time honoured (Chris Evans) fashion you will see that they get more and more tenuous……

  1. T & E played its part in the Opening Ceremony by providing all the film accommodation e.g. wardrobe, make-up and canteen facilities for the Rowan Atkinson shoot at St. Andrews
  2. We worked with FMX at the Kilmarnock Torch Relay celebrations
  3. We provided staging and ancillary services when the Olympic Torch reached Argyll at Tarbet
  4. We provided ancillary marquees for Stella McCartney’s wedding at Mount Stuart and Stella designed the athletes clothing for 2012
  5. Kenny MacLeod – one of our former employees and a keen swimmer – was at the Aquatic Centre on Tuesday to witness Michael Phelps gain the title of greatest Olympian of all times with 19 medals
  6. The Queen, who opened the 2012 Olympic Games, is our most recent royal visitor also when a marquee was installed for her visit to George Square in July
  7. Princess Anne – a member of the International Olympic Committee – was the first royal visitor we had in a T & E marquee
  8. Dionne Warwick has performed in one of our marquees and her niece – Whitney Houston – recorded “One Moment in Time” for the LA Olympic opening ceremony
  9. We use similar LED lighting to the ones used in the Opening Ceremony; however we don’t own as many – they used 70,500 pixel tablets and we have 70! By the way – what a fantastic display!
  10. Last and by no means least we took part in Piping Live! from 6th – 11th August where the T & E Marquees were once again in George Square alongside the Olympic Rings
