Well August was, as we expected, a busy, busy month!
4 More Weddings (Still No Funeral)
For the second month in a row we had 4 weddings marquees for clients. Two of these were in the Glasgow area and were simply gorgeous. Both of them were set in the garden of the family home which adds a lovely personal touch to the celebrations. It was the first outing for our gorgeous new crystal chandeliers. This particular marquee looked simply stunning with the ivory carpet and crystal chandeliers, it was a very classic and elegant look.
High Wards was the location for another wedding. The luxurious accommodation of High Wards is simply exceptional, set within the breathtaking beauty of Loch Lomond’s Wards Estate. The weddings are carefully overseen by the owners Emily and her husband Jim. Their attention to detail is fabulous.
Our fourth wedding was at Ardentinny, so it was a local one for the Dunoon team. Following on from their wedding ceremony in the village church on the shores of Loch Long, it was an idyllic setting for their special day.
We had the pleasure of working with a lovely couple from Brookfield Renfrewshire who were celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. They had Ginger Snap cater for their celebratory lunch and speaking to them afterwards they had a great afternoon celebrating with their family and friends. 50 years is certainly something special to celebrate!
Highland Gatherings Aplenty
August is traditionally Highland Show/Gathering time in Scotland and this month we had three gatherings.
A short ferry crossing for the Bute Agricultural Show at the beginning of the month for the Dunoon team and a beautiful drive through Argyll, into Glencoe and then to Lochaber for the Glenfinnan Highland Games.
The weather was just perfect for their day at Glefinnan and this is always guaranteed to bring out locals and visitors. It’s always a great day out that brings local communities together.
The Cowal Highland Gathering is held in Dunoon on the last Thursday, Friday and Saturday in August annually.
Thousands of people come to the Gathering every year so see the World Highland Dancing Championships, pipe band competitions, heavy athletics and so much more.
This year also saw the second Gig at The Gathering which was on Friday evening in the Ceilidh tent. Playing at Gig was Strachur’s Heron Valley, Trail West from Tiree and Skippinish – a great line up! It was a fabulous evening – great music and good fun!
Blair Horse Trials
Blair International Horse Trials was held on 25-28th August this year in Blair Atholl. We had the privilege of providing marquees for the sponsors, members and volunteers. Set in the beautiful grounds of Blair Castle, it is a perfect location.
September is shaping up to be equally as busy which is great news!
