May has been a month of marquee madness! We have been amazingly busy since the very start of the month and our staff have been exceptional!
Burnsfest and Scapafest
The beginning of the month started off with new events for us. We were at Rozelle Park in Ayr for the annual Burnsfest celebrations.
We worked with Zisys Events on this project and it was a great success – it’s a mix of live music and attractions for all the family.
Over the same weekend we were are the beautiful Ardkinglas Estate in Argyll for Scapafest 2018. This is a brand new event of yoga, adventure, well being and mindful living. Its a stunning setting and the weekend was jam packed with workshops, yoga sessions and outdoor education.
Next year’s date has been booked so the countdown is on!
Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
The Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair moved to a new location this year and we were delighted to work with Gerry Muldoon from GM Events to supply marquees for the event.
The new home for the Art Fair was the stunning Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the West End of Glasgow – a perfect location!
We installed a 15m x 30m marquee linked into a 12m x 10m marquee.
From the moment it opened for the preview evening on Friday it was busy all weekend and was a resounding success – helped along with some magnificent sunshine!
Lomond Wholesale Foods Annual Trade Fair
Lomond Wholesale Foods in Port Dundas Glasgow held their annual trade fair for the second year running and we were very please to be back again to provide a marquee.
They had 2 of our 12m x 25m marquees with a 10m walk through to link them together.
The marquees were filled with catering industry vendors selling their popular and some new products which included everything from bagels to ice cream!
Islay Whisky Festival
We had our annual trip to Islay to work with the Bruichladdich Distillery for their celebrations as part of the Islay Whisky Festival.
They are a great company to work with and we have worked with Ailsa and her team for several years.
They arrange transport for some of our equipment and sort out our accommodation – we are grateful for her help!
Scottish Series Sailing Event in Argyll
The Scottish Series sailing event was held in Tarbert, Argyll over the Bank Holiday weekend. They had near perfect conditions with wall to wall sunshine and a bit of wind too! It’s quite a sight to see Loch Fyne when they are sailing- it’s an array of colour and activity! There is lots of fantastic footage on the Scottish Series Facebook and Twitter page.
We supplied, as usual, a 9m x 21m main marquee along with a 9m x 15m marquee with a 3m canopy along with smaller 3m structures for their food tents. One of team, Andy, managed to capture the sunrise of over the harbour – it’s stunning!
More Exciting Marquee Events Throughout Argyll
Along with all these events we had 6 weddings, private functions, corporate events and filming marquees out across the country.
The team have hoppped on and off ferries and travelled hundreds of miles across the country this month.
The weather has been amazing and has been a welcome change in the marquee trade!
Our team have been incredible and we just couldn’t produce the standard of marquees that we do without them!
